What is Louisville Opinion?

Louisville Opinion is an online panel of consumers who live within a 50-mile radius of Louisville, KY. Members complete paid surveys for the purpose of providing vital information and opinions to local and national companies. Market researchers from businesses, agencies, education, media, and government contact Louisville Opinion to gather information and opinions from our panelists, who represent the diverse demographics of Kentuckiana.

CINT is the technology partner that assists Louisville Opinion with the gathering, storing and management of panel members data.  Founded in 1998 in Stockholm, Sweden, Cint is the world’s #1 insight exchange platform. Do I have to live in Louisville to be a member?

No – but you must live within a 50-mile radius of the city of Louisville, KY. We strive to provide businesses in and around Louisville with input from people that are likely to be their patrons, clients or consumers.  National and international businesses are also interested in the opinions of people within this specific geographical area

Can I invite other people to join?

YES! If you have a friend who is 18 or older and lives within 50 miles of Louisville, KY, we encourage you to invite them to join.


Are surveys free?

Yes. Your Louisville Opinion membership is completely free and can be cancelled at any time. Your participation in surveys is completely voluntary. There is no charge for taking surveys, you are free to join and leave anytime you wish and participate only those surveys that you are interested in taking.

How old do I have to be to be a member?

Due to the rules, regulations and ethics involved with how legitimate market research should be conducted, we are not able to offer our service to people under the age of 18.  We consider the creation of accounts by anyone under the age of 18 to be fraudulent behavior and will terminate the accounts of members who are not of the required age.

How often do I need to participate?

In certain circumstances your e-mail system can misinterpret the survey invitation we send as spam. To make sure that our e-mail address | is not flagged as spam, please mark our email address as a “safe sender”.

You can also increase your chance of receiving surveys by making sure your profile is complete and up-to-date. You can update your personal information via your member page

How do I join?

I never received a confirmation email to activate my account - what should I do?

There are several reasons this may happen:

  • The email may still be in transit. Depending on internet traffic, it can take a couple hours for emails to arrive.
  • Ensure that you have given the correct email—no spaces or misspelling.
  • Please check your junk folder and ensure that your email is not using anti-junk software to block any email addresses.

If you still have not received the confirmation email, navigate back to the registration page and re-enter your email and other information and this should prompt another confirmation mail.

If you continue to have issues or have additional questions please visit the support page of our partner, Cint: and click on “submit a request”.

I can’t login to my member page / I’ve forgotten my password

Remember that your login for Louisville Opinion is not the same as any other login. Also, the password recognition is case sensitive, so you must use capitals and small letters in the right places. If you have more than 1 email address, make sure you are using the correct one (i.e. the one you used when you registered ).

When you have logged in, you can change your password to something that is easy to remember.  If you have forgotten your password please use the “Forgot Password?” link on the panel login page. You will be prompted to enter your email address and then click “Reset Password”. An email will be sent to your email address.

If the email does not arrive, please check your spam/junk folder. Many spam filters will put legitimate emails in the spam filter. Please wait a few minutes as emails will take a few minutes to reach you.

How do I update my profile?

Use the LOGIN button on the top right-hand corner (location TBD) of our website. Once you are logged in, select “Your Profile”. Here you can update your personal information and your profiling for future surveys.

What if I want to delete my account?

To close your panel account either:

1) Login to your account

  • Click “Your Profile”
  • Click “Update Profile”
  • Select “Close Account”
  • Enter your password and click “Close Account

2) Click the “Unsubscribe” link in the survey invite

Please note that by leaving the Panel, you will lose any incentives/rewards that you earned after you last redeemed.  All your information will then be removed from our database. This may take a few business days.


How will I be notified of survey opportunities?

We will send you an email invitation. This will be sent from (Louisville Opinion email address TBD)

How many questionnaires can I answer?

You can answer all the surveys that you receive an invitation for, there is no limit.

How long is a typical survey?

The length of a survey depends on the subject matter and type of survey you are completing. Most of our surveys take between 5 and 10 minutes – perfect for a coffee break, time between meetings or ignoring the commercials during your favorite show.  The estimated duration of the questionnaire is always mentioned in each invitation to the survey.

Do I have to participate in every survey I am invited to do?

Not at all, you have full control over which surveys you take part in. We do our best to invite members to participate in surveys that are relevant to their interests based on their profile information.  If you haven’t participated in a survey for a while, you may receive an email asking if you wish to remain in the Panel or ask you to update your profile information.

How do you decide what surveys to give me?

We try to avoid inviting you to participate in surveys that aren’t suitable for you. You can help us by keeping your profile up to date, which helps us to send more targeted, relevant survey invites to you.

What kinds of questions will I have to answer when taking a survey?

Subject matter will vary, but we try to ensure our surveys are quick and fun to complete. Many of our studies focus on everyday topics, products and popular issues.

Occasionally, we may also ask our panelists to provide feedback via webcams, take surveys on their mobile phone, take part in online bulletin board surveys or even interact with other panelists in online focus groups.

Why do I get asked the same question more than once?

There may be times that you are asked the same question more than once – once in our pre-screening phase (where we are looking for a survey to match your profile), and once in the actual survey itself (where we are verifying that you meet the survey’s criteria). Although it might seem like an inconvenience or a mistake that you are asked the same question more than once – rest assured that it is not and please bear with us through this quality process.

When I click on the survey link, it says that the “survey is closed” or that my “quota is full”, why?

The survey closed’ means that one of the following has occurred: 

  • The survey has been closed. Surveys are normally active for 2 to 7 days and are then closed.
  • The desired number of answers has been collected for this survey.
  • Some surveys automatically close due to inactivity, typically after 10-15 minutes if you have entered the survey but not progressed through the questions.

‘Quota full’ means that all answers from your specific target group have been collected.”

  • For surveys that you receive a “quota full” message they do not count as completed surveys and no rewards are earned, as the information is not used.

Why aren’t I receiving any surveys?

Surveys are sent automatically when your profile closely matches the requirements of the survey. We recommend that you fill in your profile with as much information as possible so it will be easier to match your profile to surveys that are most relevant for you.

How can I take part in more surveys?

The more profile information you provide, the more likely you are to receive survey. Upon registering, we also ask how frequently you would like to participate. We aim to match the number of surveys with your interest in completing surveys.

The number of surveys you are eligible to receive during a set time is also limited by guidelines set forth by several market research industry associations. These standards exist to ensure research quality and avoid respondent fatigue.


How much can I expect to earn for completing surveys?

Our goal is to provide an enjoyable way for our panelists to earn a little bit extra while also shaping the products and services of the future.

Rewards vary depending on the length of the survey you complete. Our longer studies can pay $10 (or more), while the majority of our quick, coffee-break surveys pay from 25¢ to $2. These are more frequent, enabling you to quickly build your balance. The cash reward for the survey is clearly stated before you participate. Sometimes the incentive may be a survey sweepstakes where the prize and terms and conditions are clearly outlined

Will I be rewarded for every survey I complete?

You will always be rewarded, in some way, for completing our surveys.  In most cases, you will earn a cash reward however, there will be surveys for which a direct incentive is not rewarded. In these cases, the incentive may be an entry into a sweepstakes or prize draw for which you will only gain an entry upon completion of the related study or survey.

Our regular surveys are relevant to most Louisville Opinion™ panelists; however, sometimes a specific profile is needed and not everyone will fit the criteria. You will not be paid for answering the quick screening questions (e.g. what brand of mobile phone do you own?), and this information will not be used as part of the research.

How to View/Redeem Rewards

Completing a survey will generate the stated reward. Your rewards are added to your account at the completion of each survey unless otherwise stated. You must reach the minimum payout threshold, described on your account page, before requesting your payout through the selected payment method.


Rewards can be redeemed as Amazon Gift Cards, in cash via PayPal or, with GCodes.  Once you have reached a payout threshold for your choice of reward, simply follow these steps:

  1. Login to your account dashboard as normal
  2. Click on “Rewards” to view your balance
  3. Select “Amazon”, “PayPal” or “GCodes” to redeem your rewards via your preferred method


Payments are sent to the email address you use to receive surveys. Amazon e-gift cards are sent directly to your inbox (please check your junk email folder too). PayPal transactions are sent to the PayPal account registered with your email address. If your PayPal account uses a different email address, you will need to link your Louisville Opinion email in the PayPal account settings menu. PayPal allows multiple email addresses to pay into the same account.

To view your rewards balance at any time, please login to your member page with your Louisville Opinion username and password. Click on “Your Profile”, scroll down and click on “Redeem Rewards”. Your rewards balance will be displayed on this screen.

When will the rewards be credited to my account?

Rewards are instant for most surveys and you will see them added to your balance upon completion. However, some survey providers pay rewards after completing a quality assurance process. For these surveys, the rewards can take up to four weeks to appear in your account. If you successfully completed a survey and the reward has not been credited within four weeks please contact our support team at: (address TBD)

How long will it take to receive my rewards?

PayPal transfers appear in your account within 2 business days of the request being made. During busy periods it can take up to 4 business days to process payments to PayPal. A minimum balance of $12.50 is required to cash out PayPal rewards.


Amazon Gift Certificates take up to four weeks to arrive in your email inbox.  If you redeem with Amazon Gift Cards you will need a minimum of $10 in your account.

Do I need a PayPal account to get paid?

If you wish to redeem your rewards via PayPal, then yes. With a PayPal account you can have the money transferred to your bank account. If you do not already have one, setting up an account is easy. Just go to

Can rewards be paid by check?

No. We use Pay Pal and Amazon because they are secure, widely used and efficient systems.  They also allow us to get your rewards to you more quickly.


Can I trust Louisville Opinion to protect my personal data?

Absolutely. We are compliant with all United States laws related to personal data protection as well as the more stringent laws accepted as standard by the European Union. In addition, Curiosity Consulting, LLC, the owner of the Louisville Opinion brand, strictly adheres to the quality code of conduct issued by ESOMAR, the largest international organization in the market research industry. Louisville Opinion will never sell or send your personal data to any third party without your prior written consent. Access to storage software is limited to authorized persons within the Louisville Opinion team, based on unique usernames and passwords

What do you do with the personal data that I give you?

Any information we collect from you is only used in an aggregate form for analysis purposes, to select panelists for survey invitations and to send you updates related to the research from time to time. We sometimes invite you to complete surveys from external organizations. In such surveys, you will never be asked for information that can be used to identify you personally. Sometimes these organizations may ask for your permission to re-contact you for follow-up research, in which case they will not be able to do so without your explicit permission. Does anyone else have access to the information in my account?

Never. We do not share our panelist’s personally identifiable data with our clients or any other third party.
